🐄 Heart

Hola everyone!!!!  This week started out a lil slow. My cute comp hurt her back and could not do anything all day monday and all day Tuesday. She slept the whole two days basically, cuz she didn't feel good so i had the opportunity to study! Wahoo haha I finally got to listen to the prophets talk given to the young single adults in english, and wow it was so amazing!! One thing I loved that he said was, if you focus on the identities of the world you are going to be disappointed because they are always changing, but you will always be a child God. The way god feels about us and sees us will never change!! We are His children!! By Wednesday i was kinda losing it being stuck inside all day, thank goodness we had exchanges. I got to go to villa maría with hermana rostaing!! It was sooo fun, Villa María is straight mountains and hills so I also got some nice exercise, hiking everywhere haha. Also in villa maría their penchinista is a chef so I had theeee yummiest food ever. Peruana foo...

Lost

Image
Hola everyone!!! This week was pretty long, lots of visits which means we got lost a lot!! You would think my comp would know how to get around but she is absolutely terrible at directions haha its pretty funny, cuz I thought I never knew where I was going but she doesn't know either. We got lost one night and we were going in the opposite direction, sometimes people don't understand what I'm saying OR I dont understand what other people are saying, and other times we are late to every visit and I'm so Hungry, but in moments like this you just gotta laugh. Laughing helps, I laugh a lot out here in Perú.  This week we had a mission activity at the mission home with everyone. Day of sports!! We played Ping pong, soccer, volley Ball and had Lunch. It was sooooo fun. It's always fun to watch all the faces of the latinos when I walk out to play soccer with them. They told me, we have never seen Girls play soccer in Perú, haha well now you have.  We are teaching this guy ...

Elder Christofferson

Hola everyone!! We had a devotional with elder christofferson!! It was so so cool, I got to shake his hand and everything. I loved what he had to say. He said know who you are, when you wake up and when you go to sleep know that you are a child of God!! And in this life we need to learn to trust our Savior, Jesus christ!  It was so amazing to hear from Him This week was crazy we are teaching 2 new people and we hope they can continue progressing!! During one of the lessons I had the opportunity to bear my testimony on the plan of salvation. This happened on a day in specific where I was missing my sweet grandma jewkes so so much, I know that wasn't a coincidence. I'm very thankful for the knowledge i have that families are forever, and that my lord was looking out for me on this day. also the fruit here is so amazing!! Any fruit you name it, it's so yummy!!! So we are having a party just trying all the fruits!! Love you all have a good week Love, hermana Lindsey

Team Jesus

Image
Hola everyone!!! So i have been in the field in Perú for about 3 weeks now and ive got 2 things to say, spanish is so hard and i love Perú. I get a lot of looks, a tall White girl trying to get from one place to another with perú's crazy transportation. There are definietly harder days than others. I wake up sometimes and feel Like satan is slapping me in the Face a little reminding me that i dont Know spanish, but something i realized yesterday While reading in alma 37:33 is that we can withstand anything satan throws at us with faith in Jesús Christ!! I am so glad i am on his team and He is on mine.  I know my Savior is a light in the darkness, miracle worker, promise keeper and his team Will Win every time over anything!! My penchinista is my favorite human ever, mamá Gloria. She is Just out here making me rice and chicken every day, oh and she talks a million Words per second so i cant understand her but she still gives me a huge hug and a Kiss everytime i see her. 😘 Right now...

Image
Hola everyone!!! i hope everyone had a great week! This week we were so lucky to have some amazing devotionals from my mtc president and his wife, they are thee coolest people in this whole world. I love them so much.  One devotional we had from them was the power of NEVERTHELESS! in the scriptures we see people go through hard times and struggle but nevertheless they knew the lord was with them and would bless them, nevertheless they pressed forward with faith! this helped me so much because there are times out here where i get down and things are really hard but nevertheless Jesus is on my side! Now for my favorite part of the week! Boom, devotional from presidente Jackson, he related the missionary alma the younger and amulek to basketball wahoo! He told us about his basketball coach in high school, how he always had them in a full court press thee entire game no matter how much they were winning by, love it. His coach would say we will never lose a game because the other t...

April 18th, 2022 - Easter 💛💛

Image
Hola!!!! I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter remembering our Savior. This week i gained a testimony so strong that we truly do have a personal Savior. He attends to each one of us so personally. We watched a cool video of Elder Holland explaining the atonement of Jesus Christ, how even him an apostle of God cant comprehend and fully understand the atonement. But what he does know is that He lives, that He has overcome death for every single one of us!!!  This Easter i feel so grateful that we have a LIVING Savior, so many other churches only celebrate His death, how sad is that. Im so grateful to know that we can all live again like our Savior. Also something i learned about myself this week is that i can remember a movie quote from a movie i havent seen in 4 years but cant remember the hours of spanish grammar i study a day.  But each day if i get discouraged i try and notice the tender mercies my Heavenly Father sends me. One day i was really struggling and then i found t...

April 11th, 2022 - Week 7

Image
Still in the mtc!!! but all is well because i love my mission president and wife. They gave the coolest devotional the other day on being Bold. And i came to realize that even though i am nervous to speak spanish and teach in spanish that if i am bold and have courage over my fears, the spirit will help me out! I GAVE A TALK IN SACRAMENT, in espanol. It is crazy the way they do it here. so on monday they give us our topic and you don't know who is talking until sunday as they are announcing the meeting. So my dad was right, never be nervous to give a talk in english, because that was wayyyy scarier!!! but it was a great learning experience, and as i started to bear testimony of my Savior and his atonement, i felt the spirit so strong. We also had the coolest relief society lesson, preparing for this easter sunday we talked about the Savior's atonement and my favorite thing from the lesson was what Jesus did on Thursday when the sacrifice for us all begins, The pain Jesus feels ...
